You have written it. We read it the way the buyer will, against the scheme they published, and tell you where the marks are likely to go and where they are not. Cheapest way to find out that an answer is answering the wrong question. You still send it in as your own work, and nothing about it becomes ours.

A public tender usually has a gate before the competition: a questionnaire on policies, insurances, accounts and past work that decides who is allowed to bid at all. It's scored, it's unforgiving, and it's the same set of questions every time. Getting it right once is worth more than any single bid, because it is the door every later bid comes through. This gate does not weigh your answers against anyone else's. One question below the minimum, or a total under half, and the rest of your bid is never read. The standards are specific: Cyber Essentials for cyber, ISO 9001 for quality, professional indemnity at the level the buyer asks for, a modern slavery statement once your turnover crosses the threshold. We take the buyer's scoring scheme apart first, so every answer is written to earn the marks that question actually carries, and every factual line is labelled with the evidence behind it. It comes back for you to change, approve and submit as your own. Holding the contract already is not a defence. Charity funding is rarely one application. It is a calendar of them, with different funders wanting the same story told four different ways. We work alongside whoever runs it, for an agreed stretch of time, and take the writing off their desk. The tone matters here as much as the evidence, and it is not the tone a tender wants.

One fund, one deadline, one application, written to what that funder actually asks for rather than to what the last one did. Funders publish their criteria and their priorities, and most applications answer the priorities they wish were there. This is the same work as a tender submission on a smaller frame.

An award programme opens and shuts on its own calendar, and it shuts whether your entry is ready or not. Some of what calls itself an award is an entry fee with a ceremony attached.
